Mission:  As the Children's Environmental Health Promotion unit, we promote all San Franciscans having access to:

  • Healthy Affordable Housing;
  • Lead-Safe Housing and Childcare;
  • Asthma-Safe Housing, Childcare and Schools and
  • Safe Child Passenger Transport in Cars.

We help families by linking them to needed services and provide multilingual education to the public and training for community agencies
about:

  • Lead Hazard Prevention;
  • Asthma Management and
  • Child Passenger Safety.

We enforce Health Code requirements for housing free of lead hazards, and provide case management support to the families of children with lead exposure.  We support communities and individuals advocating for City policies and practices to prevent childhood lead poisoning and improve asthma management and prevention.

We teach youth how to engage in changing City policies and practices about housing, land use and transportation to promote better community health outcomes.
