Mission:  As the Children's Environmental Health Promotion unit,
we promote all San Franciscans having access to:

  • Healthy Affordable Housing;
  • Homes and Childcare Settings Free of Lead Paint Hazard;
  • Asthma-Safe Homes, Childcare, Schools and Neighborhoods;
  • Healthy Housecleaning and Pest Control Methods.

We help families by linking them to needed services and provide multilingual education to the public and training for community agencies:

  • Lead Hazard Prevention;
  • Asthma Management;
  • Healthy Housecleaning and Pest Control Methods.

We enforce Health Code requirements for housing free of lead hazards, and provide case management support to the families of children with lead exposure.  We support communities and individuals advocating for City policies and practices to prevent childhood lead poisoning and improve asthma management and prevention.

We sponsor Youth Works interns to learn about work in Public Health.
